Journeyman

The National Skills Development Programme (NSDP) Journeyman Diploma is a comprehensive apprenticeship designed to equip trainees with the technical skills and workplace competencies required across multiple engineering disciplines.

Developed through a partnership between the MIC Institute of Technology, the German Chamber of Crafts and Trades, Fitz Werner GmbH, and ICON-INSTITUT of Aachen, Germany, this diploma is modelled after the internationally recognised German dual-system of training. This approach systematically combines structured, practical industry experience with formal vocational education.

Graduates of the NSDP Journeyman Diploma will be able to demonstrate a broad range of skills and knowledge relevant to the Manufacturing and Energy sectors, ensuring their readiness for employment in these industries.

Joinery

Joinery students will be exposed to Practical and Theoretical Skills/Knowledge in the areas of Wood Technology, Design and Construction, Furniture construction, Cabinet making and practical experiences on the varying woodworking equipment.

Mechanical Engineering Technology with Steelpan Manufacturing (METSM)

METSM trainees will be exposed to modules that would develop their knowledge, in the areas of steelpan construction and tuning, the science of sound and introduction to sound engineering, music, welding and fabrication, mechanical technology and practical experiences on the varying pan manufacturing and tuning equipment.

Master Craftsman

Participants of this programme are trained at the highest level of technical competency whilst learning the basics of management and supervision. A graduate of this programme will be able to function as a specialist in his/her occupational area and be qualified for supervisory or trainer positions. The Master Craftsman Qualification is a Diploma Level 4 of ACTT National Qualifications Framework Programme.
